Batteries: All classes will be limited to a maximum of 6 sub-C rechargeable batteries at 1.2 V per cell max. or Lithium batteries 2 cell only (7.4 V max). All racers shall take every precaution to insure safe charging and discharging techniques with their batteries. This shall include but is not limited to, attentive monitoring of battery during charging and use of a proper charging container i.e., LiPo sack. To insure that safe charging methods are followed by all competitors, all batteries will be subject to inspection prior to each race. This is to ensure battery voltage is a maximum of 8.44 volts or less. If the battery reads 8.45 or more you do not race. Battery temperature may also be checked with the following pre-race procedure. A control pack will be placed in the tech area for the purpose of monitoring the pack temperature. Checked batteries shall be no more than 70° F or 5° F above the temp of the control pack whichever is greater. Lithium battery exemption: As of November 1, 2008 Lithium Manganese packs will be allowed for indoor racing. These packs are not available in a hard case design to the general consumer. After several conversations with battery professionals we feel safe enough to allow the soft shrink wrap packs to be used. When lithium manganese packs are commercially available in a hard case design the soft shrink wrap packs will no longer be allowed and the hard case rule above will be enforced. Lithium manganese packs still apply to the proper charging container rules above.
Motor classifications: -Stock motor classes will be allowed to use a brushed 27-turn, 24-degree stock motor, Armature MUST be stamped “27â€
